I captured this photo during the storm tonight. It has to be one of the most vivid and smooth I’ve taken to date. I kinda wished the exposure had lasted at least another few seconds though. Right after this photo completed, another bolt struck right were mid-frame would be.

This is my first attempt to use the Canon HF S100 during a lightning storm. I didn’t achieve great results, but want to try it again.

I spotted an uncommon sight in Estill Springs Saturday, a Bald Eagle. This is the second time I’ve seen one locally. The last time was a few years ago. Both instances have been around the lake while the Eagle was apparently hunting. I have heard about a local nest and I want to check it out. This photo was taken at the Estill Springs City Park. The tree it is sitting in overlooks the bend in the Elk River.

Since I was stuck in a shelter without a camera during the storms, I found a good collection of slideshows with good photos at a Nashville TV site.
I snapped these pictures of the severe storms today. We were under a tornado warning for a little while. I don’t know if one ever formed though.
