According to BoxOfficeMojo Star Trek earned an estimated $76,500,000 in its first weekend. That puts it above some totals of other Trek movies, already. By comparison, Star Trek Nemesis only made $43,000,000 when it debuted in 2002 (Figures once again BoxOfficeMojo). It is poised to easily become the highest earning Trek film yet. Also of note, Star Trek is now the highest earning film overall for IMAX theaters, beating out The Dark Night.

There is one really simple and easy way to tell if your infected with the Conficker worm. The following webpage uses hotlinked images from the various antivirus supplier domains to give you sort of an eye chart. If you have images that do not load, there is a chance you’ve been infected. Try it out: http://www.joestewart.org/cfeyechart.html
I have a particular gripe about businesses that charge for the wifi in their establishment. To me, it seems like idiocy to pay up to $15 a month for wifi access at a business. Evidently there are alot of people out there that do it because it seems to be popular. Wifi should be a perk to visiting your establishment, not another product. I guess until people grow a brain and stop paying, no one will wise-up.
Check this out. This guy has built a 1,600 pound /36 foot tall replica of a Saturn V rocket and intends to fly it next week (April 25)!

I spotted an uncommon sight in Estill Springs Saturday, a Bald Eagle. This is the second time I’ve seen one locally. The last time was a few years ago. Both instances have been around the lake while the Eagle was apparently hunting. I have heard about a local nest and I want to check it out. This photo was taken at the Estill Springs City Park. The tree it is sitting in overlooks the bend in the Elk River.

I happened upon this page using stumbleupon. Its actually a pretty neat experiment in crowdsourcing. You can see the embedded video on page 2 of this article.
In New York City, we are very occupied with getting from one place to another. I wondered: could a human-like object traverse sidewalks and streets along with us, and in so doing, create a narrative about our relationship to space and our willingness to interact with what we find in it? More importantly, how could our actions be seen within a larger context of human connection that emerges from the complexity of the city itself? To answer these questions, I built robots.
